Jenna and Amanda
As much as we hate to admit it, we have our mothers to thank for our friendship. We didn’t meet in Kindergarten, which is when you’d expect your mom to match you up with friends, but at our orientation to university when our significantly more extroverted mothers hit it off. Begrudgingly, we came to realize just how similar we were — both introverts, both majoring in English and Education, both needing a study buddy and someone to face the trials of university with. We bonded over books and tea, and were soon inseparable. For five years, we roomed together, made copious amounts of tea, and talked about everything from classic literature, to movies, to deep heart to heart conversations about life.
Ever since university, we have been eager to work together again, so we turned to what initially brought us together — chatting about books. We hope our literary insights and queries spark lively discussions and conversations of your own!
THE STORY BEHIND A NOOK OF BOOKS
“A Nook of Books” is inspired by our first apartment together. The apartment was a safe haven for us, and one of the most charming aspects of it was a little alcove off to the side. With a few shelves and the huge amounts of books we required for our English degrees, we quickly converted it into our “Book Nook.” We discovered the world in that nook, and we hope that this site enables you to do the same!
